Bruschetta is a typical dish from southern Italy. It's a Mediterranean delight made with few simple, healthy ingredients. It can be used as a starter dish or second dish.
INGREDIENTS
- 10 tomatoes
- 8 basil leaves
- 1 garlic clove
- Bread (Ideally, Puglia style)
- Extra virgin olive oil (Olivaio)
- Dried oregano
- Salt
- Pepper
Directions
- Cut 4 slices of bread and let them toast on both sides in a grilled or non stick pan until lightly browned; rub garlic on them (only on one side)
- Cut the tomatoes and put them in a bowl; add extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), garlic, oregano, and basil and mix together
- Top slices of bread equally with tomato mixture
Note: you can use as much extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) as you'd like as well as for salt, oregano and basil
