Bruschetta is a typical dish from southern Italy. It's a Mediterranean delight made with few simple, healthy ingredients. It can be used as a starter dish or second dish.

INGREDIENTS

10 tomatoes
8 basil leaves
1 garlic clove
Bread (Ideally, Puglia style)
Extra virgin olive oil (Olivaio)
Dried oregano
Salt
Pepper

Directions

  1. Cut 4 slices of bread and let them toast on both sides in a grilled or non stick pan until lightly browned; rub garlic on them (only on one side)
  2. Cut the tomatoes and put them in a bowl; add extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), garlic, oregano, and basil and mix together
  3. Top slices of bread equally with tomato mixture

Note: you can use as much extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) as you'd like as well as for salt, oregano and basil
